Google Sheets

Connect Google Sheets when a workflow or an agent should keep records in a spreadsheet: log each order, update a tracker, read a list of contacts, or start a run when someone adds a row.

An owner or admin connects Google Sheets once for the whole organization. A member asks one of them. Every workflow and agent then acts as that one Google account and reaches the spreadsheets it can reach. See Connecting apps.

  1. Open the Apps page.
  2. Press Connect an app.
  3. Choose Google Sheets in the Super Connect window.
  4. Sign in with the Google account that can open your spreadsheets, and approve the access it asks for.
  5. Finish when the window reaches Done.

Google Sheets is its own connection. Connecting it does not connect Gmail, Calendar or Drive. For a Google Workspace account, the Workspace column shows the account’s domain.

A Google Sheets connection brings actions and an event. Actions find spreadsheets, read, search, append, update, clear and delete rows and ranges, and create spreadsheets and sheets. The event starts a run when a row is appended to a sheet. The live list of both is in the builder: the Action node’s picker for actions, and the Event list of an App event trigger for the event. An agent uses only the actions you grant it. Action steps never offer a destructive action; an agent can be granted one, and it always waits for a member’s approval.

  • Super Connect checks a watched sheet every 10 minutes. A run can start up to 10 minutes after the row is added.
  • A Sheets trigger is checked every 10 minutes whether or not a row arrives. It counts as an active app subscription for as long as a live workflow uses it. See Allowances.
  • For records that only your workflows and agents read, an organization database may fit better. See Databases.

When the connection’s health reads failing or needs reauthorization, an owner or admin opens the Apps page, presses … on its row, then Reauthorize, and signs in again with the same Google account. The connection stays the same, so workflows, triggers and agent grants need no change. See Reauthorize a connection.
