Google Drive

Connect Google Drive when a workflow or an agent should work with files: find a document, read it for an agent to summarize, file a new one in a folder, or share it with a colleague.

An owner or admin connects Google Drive once for the whole organization. A member asks one of them. Every workflow and agent then acts as that one Google account and reaches the files it can reach. See Connecting apps.

  1. Open the Apps page.
  2. Press Connect an app.
  3. Choose Google Drive in the Super Connect window.
  4. Sign in with the Google account whose files you want to use, and approve the access it asks for.
  5. Finish when the window reaches Done.

Google Drive is its own connection. Connecting it does not connect Gmail, Sheets or Calendar. For a Google Workspace account, the Workspace column shows the account’s domain.

A Google Drive connection brings actions: searching drives and files, reading, creating, copying and updating files, creating folders, sharing, and working with comments. It has no events today, so Google Drive cannot start a run. Start the workflow by hand, on a schedule, or from another app’s event, and use Drive actions in its steps. The live list of actions is in the builder’s Action node picker. An agent uses only the actions you grant it. Action steps never offer a destructive action; an agent can be granted one, and it always waits for a member’s approval.

  • What the connection may read and change depends on the scopes it was granted. Open its row on the Apps page to see them.
  • To give an agent a file’s contents, grant it a Drive action that reads files, or add an Action step that reads the file and pass its output on with {{ nodes.<id>.<field> }}. See Templates and variables.

When the connection’s health reads failing or needs reauthorization, an owner or admin opens the Apps page, presses … on its row, then Reauthorize, and signs in again with the same Google account. The connection stays the same, so workflows and agent grants need no change. See Reauthorize a connection.
